The Moroccan authorities intervened on Tuesday morning to prevent a group of 15 to 20 Moroccans who tried to swim to Ceuta along the Tarajal breakwater.

According to El Faro de Ceuta, the attempt, aborted by the Moroccan authorities, took place around 9 am.

The group intended to jump into the water to cross the strip, which separates the kingdom and Ceuta, reports the same source.

«All the members of the group gave up, without actually making the crossing», El Faro de Ceuta added.

In addition to the attempts recorded from Morocco, El Faro de Ceuta recalls those of Moroccans stranded in Ceuta since the closure of the borders.
