Wheat imports in Morocco in MY2020/2021 are at 6.2 million ton, Reuters reported, explaining that they are 35% higher than similar imports for MY2019/20.

The same source indicates that this jump is due to weak domestic production and the suspension of wheat import duties.

Most of these imports were sourced by France and Ukraine, which tend to have the biggest share of wheat imports in Morocco.

On the other hand, the durum what market in the country is dominated by Canada while the US wheat remains «priced out of the Moroccan market, even with the full removal of Moroccan duties».
