The song «Palante», composed by Moroccan Hajar Sbihi known as Asha, will represent Spain at the next edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020, state-owned public corporation (RTVE) has announced.
Performed by Solea Fernandez, this song is also composed by César G. Ross, and Bruno Valverde. Hajar Sbihi, 23, is a Moroccan singer and songwriter who has been living in Spain for a few years.
Born and raised in Morocco, Hajar was chosen at the age of 12 to participate in the interpretation of the song «Bokra» (tomorrow), a song about freedom, peace, tolerance, hope, brotherhood and love.
This song was performed under the auspices of Quincy Jones as a producer, in collaboration with Red One.
After her studies in Spain, Hajar decided to settle in the Iberian country to focus on music. She released her first single in June which reached over a million views on YouTube in one month. Hajar has also composed other songs in Spain.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will take place in Warsaw, Poland, on November 29, 2021. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Junior Eurovision will be held in a television studio, for the first time in the history of the Competition.
