Smartphone penetration in Morocco has reached a remarkable milestone, with 100% of urban households now equipped and rural areas quickly catching up, according to the latest survey by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT). As digital adoption accelerates, the country also witnesses significant growth in internet connectivity and computer ownership, although rising internet use among children is sparking concerns among parents.
The confidence of Moroccan households showed a slight improvement in the first quarter of 2025, according to the results of an ongoing survey on household conditions conducted by the High Commission for Planning. However, despite this uptick, the overall indicators still reflect a persistent negative outlook on economic and social conditions.
Many families affected by last year's earthquake in Morocco are still struggling to return to normal lives. Speaking to Yabiladi, they denounced insufficient aid, slow reconstruction, and delays.
