With nearly 900,000 legal residents, the Moroccan population is the largest foreign community in Spain. However, this figure does not fully capture the extent of their presence: more than 260,000 Moroccans have been naturalized as Spanish citizens since 2013, without losing their original nationality in the eyes of Morocco. Morocco has a medium quality nationality according to the latest edition of the Quality of Nationality Index. The report ranks the kingdom second in North Africa and 123rd in the world.
