12.21.وَقَالَ الَّذِي اشْتَرَاهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لاِمْرَأَتِهِ أَكْرِمِي مَثْوَاهُ عَسَى أَن يَنفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَداً وَكَذَلِكَ مَكَّنِّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُ مِن تَأْوِيلِ الأَحَادِيثِ وَاللّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَى أَمْرِهِ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

12.21. L'Égyptien qui l'avait acquis dit à sa femme : «Traite-le bien ! Peut-être nous sera-t-il utile ou serons-nous amenés à l'adopter.» Ainsi avons-Nous bien établi Joseph en ce pays et l'avons-Nous initié à l'interprétation des rêves, car, lorsque ton Seigneur décide une chose, elle s'accomplit toujours, bien que la plupart des hommes l'ignorent.

12.21 . And he of Egypt who purchased him said unto his wife : Receive him honorably . Perchance he may prove useful to us or we may adopt him as a son . Thus We established Joseph in the land that We might teach him the interpretation of events . And Allah was predominant in his career , but most of mankind know not .

12.21. Waqala allathee ishtarahu min misra liimraatihi akrimee mathwahu AAasa an yanfaAAana aw nattakhithahu waladan wakathalika makkanna liyoosufa fee al-ardi walinuAAallimahu min ta/weeli al-ahadeethi waAllahu ghalibun AAala amrihi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

12.22.وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْماً وَعِلْماً وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ

12.22. Et quand Joseph eut atteint sa maturité, Nous lui accordâmes sagesse et savoir, car c'est ainsi que Nous récompensons les hommes de bien.

12.22 . And when he reached his prime We gave him wisdom and knowledge . Thus We reward the good .

12.22. Walamma balagha ashuddahu ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineena

12.23.وَرَاوَدَتْهُ الَّتِي هُوَ فِي بَيْتِهَا عَن نَّفْسِهِ وَغَلَّقَتِ الأَبْوَابَ وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللّهِ إِنَّهُ رَبِّي أَحْسَنَ مَثْوَايَ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ

12.23. Or, celle qui l'avait reçu chez elle tenta de le séduire et, fermant toutes les portes, elle lui dit : «Viens ! Je suis à toi !» – «Dieu m'en préserve !, s'exclama Joseph. Je ne peux trahir mon maître qui m'a traité avec générosité, car les traîtres ne peuvent jamais prospérer.»

12.23 . And she , in whose house he was , asked of him an evil act . She bolted the doors and said : Come! He said : I seek refuge in Allah! Lo! he is my lord , who hath treated me honorably . Wrong doers never prosper .

12.23. Warawadat-hu allatee huwa fee baytiha AAan nafsihi waghallaqati al-abwaba waqalat hayta laka qala maAAatha Allahi innahu rabbee ahsana mathwaya innahu la yuflihu alththalimoona

12.24.وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلا أَن رَّأَى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ كَذَلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاء إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ

12.24. Mais elle avait complètement succombé à son charme et lui aussi l'aurait désirée s'il n'avait pas été éclairé par un signe de son Seigneur. Et c'est ainsi que Nous avons écarté de lui le mal et la turpitude. Il était, en effet, un de Nos serviteurs élus.

12.24 . She verily desired him , and he would have desired her if it had not been that he saw the argument of his lord . Thus it was , that We might ward off from him evil and lewdness . Lo! he was of Our chosen slaves .

12.24. Walaqad hammat bihi wahamma biha lawla an raa burhana rabbihi kathalika linasrifa AAanhu alssoo-a waalfahshaa innahu min AAibadina almukhlaseena

12.25.وَاسُتَبَقَا الْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيصَهُ مِن دُبُرٍ وَأَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَى الْبَابِ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَاء مَنْ أَرَادَ بِأَهْلِكَ سُوَءاً إِلاَّ أَن يُسْجَنَ أَوْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

12.25. Tous deux se précipitèrent vers la porte, et elle lui déchira sa tunique par derrière. Ils trouvèrent le mari devant la porte, et aussitôt la femme s'écria : «Quel châtiment mérite celui qui a voulu déshonorer ta femme, sinon la prison ou un supplice exemplaire?»

12.25 . And they raced with one another to the door , and she tore his shirt from behind , and they met her lord and master at the door . She said : What shall be his reward , who wisheth evil to thy folk , save prison or a painful doom?

12.25. Waistabaqa albaba waqaddat qameesahu min duburin waalfaya sayyidaha lada albabi qalat ma jazao man arada bi-ahlika soo-an illa an yusjana aw AAathabun aleemun
