38.21.وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ

38.21. Connais-tu l'histoire de ces deux plaideurs qui escaladèrent le prétoire

38.21 . And hath the story of the litigants come unto thee? How they climbed the wall into the royal chamber ;

38.21. Wahal ataka nabao alkhasmi ith tasawwaroo almihraba

38.22.إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَى دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ خَصْمَانِ بَغَى بَعْضُنَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَى سَوَاء الصِّرَاطِ

38.22. et s'introduisirent auprès de David qui en fut saisi de frayeur? «Ne crains rien, lui dirent-ils, nous sommes deux plaideurs. L'un de nous a agi iniquement envers l'autre. Départage-nous en toute justice et sans partialité ! Guide-nous vers le droit chemin !

38.22 . How they burst in upon David , and he was afraid of them . They said Be not afraid ( We are ) two litigants , one of whom hath wronged the other , therefor judge aright between us ; be not unjust ; and show us the fair way .

38.22. Ith dakhaloo AAala dawooda fafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmani bagha baAAduna AAala baAAdin faohkum baynana bialhaqqi wala tushtit waihdina ila sawa-i alssirati

38.23.إِنَّ هَذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ

38.23. Cet homme est mon frère, déclara l'un d'eux. Il possède quatre-vingt-dix-neuf brebis et moi je n'en ai qu'une. Il m'a demandé de la lui céder pour compléter son troupeau, et j'ai dû m'incliner devant son insistance.»

38.23 . Lo! this my brother hath ninety and nine ewes while I had one ewe ; and he said : Entrust it to me , and he conquered me in speech .

38.23. Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAun watisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqala akfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitabi

38.24.قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَى نِعَاجِهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيراً مِّنْ الْخُلَطَاء لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعاً وَأَنَابَ {س} .

38.24. – «Ton frère, répondit David, a effectivement commis une injustice, en te demandant ta brebis pour l'ajouter à son troupeau.» Un grand nombre d'associés n'hésitent pas à se léser les uns les autres, excepté ceux qui croient en Dieu et font le bien. Mais, hélas ! Ces derniers sont fort peu nombreux ! Et David pensa que Nous le mettions à l'épreuve dans cet exemple. Il implora alors le pardon de son Maître, se prosterna et se repentit.

38.24 . ( David ) said : He hath wronged thee in demanding thine ewe in addition to his ewes , and lo! many partners oppress one another , save such as believe and do good works , and they are few . And David guessed that We had tried him , and he sought forgiveness of his Lord , and he bowed himself and fell down prostrate and repented .

38.24. Qala laqad thalamaka bisu-ali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wa-inna katheeran mina alkhulata-i layabghee baAAduhum AAala baAAdin illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waqaleelun ma hum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahu faistaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanaba

38.25.فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَلِكَ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ

38.25. Nous lui avons alors pardonné la faute qu'il avait commise. Nous lui réservons auprès de Nous une place de choix et lui accordons un beau lieu de retour.

38.25 . So We forgave him that ; and lo! he had access to Our presence and a happy journey ' s end .
