personally i don't recommend moroccan banks, many thing to pay, when they send you a letter, when you do some transactions,...always,it's not a good dealAre you crazy

i have my account in a french bank(i'm from France) and when i go to Morocco(not every year!) i take some money with me and with my visa(or master card) i do what i wantsmiling smiley
with the bmce bank=(5.5+15)*12 + 2*50dh=346dh=34€!
you can have all of these services for free with you own bank for free and you don't have to manage an other "account"

welcome to morocco, give us your money and leave us grinning smiley
you're absolutely right, moroccan banks are a right rip-off! the only reason why i opened the account is that i wanted to avoid having to take large sums of money with me, then go through the hassle of queing up in overcrowded bank branches to exchange it. and also, they don't tell you about thoses costs when you open the account, you only find out when you start receiving the bank statements

Attijari does not charge for statment & you could do the online for 280 dhs per year but every time you make a transfer to your account you get 15 dhs with 20 transfers ( free from Barclay to Attijari account) over the year you should be 20 dhs up !

Don't froget " count sur carnet" is the only account that hasn't got any charges but you can't use it abroad and you have no cashline card. The book is similar to a building society booklet and you receive interst. Ideally for taking your money with you and paying it into, what I call Moroccan emergency account. At the end of your trip one can put any left over money into this type of account.

Convertible account from waffa bank costs around 150MDH a year this is the only way one can take out money from the country This is not a lot if you are making lots of trips and transactions.
