Heroes, a word largely used to describe people who perform the impossible, whether in showing superiority in sports, humanitarianism, character, Peace or War contributions, Sciences and or Religion. Ghandi, Jeanne d'Arc, Abdelkrim el khettabi or Dali Lama as example. But religious and geographical influences determine who really is or is not a hero. Also a hero in part of the Arab world could be called a terrorist in the west, and a hero in the west could be named a criminal in the Arab world. Even on a much smaller scale, a Moroccan soldier standing guard in the Moroccan Sahara today is a hero for many Moroccans, but is he the same in Algeria for example? The heroes in Ireland are the bad guys in London, and while Sharon is a hero for many in Israel, he’s seen no less than assassin with bloody hands in the Muslim world. What makes a person a hero? Is there a hero on whom the world does not disagree? Do you have a person you regard as Hero? Excluding parents, just because we all, or the majority of us see our parents as our heroes. so let’s leave that a side for now if you wish and see the more universal meaning of the word.
