I think he was a good man because he always stood for what he believed; whether we agree with him or not, I think he always was clear in his views in regards to world policy, including the war in Iraq. I know you may disagree with me, and that is OK. It’s my view and I have lots of respect for the man.
I think nobody can deny the fact that he was a good man! I totally agree with you. There are many good jews and christians! Allah said respect their prophets and religions!
You know I actually sat down and watched the funeral, and by the end of that ceremony, it became clear to me how large the impact he had on millions of people around the world. I’m glad you are with me on that.
I have a suggestion for you: how about TheRose, RedRose, PinkRose or even GreenRose instead of DeadRose. I can’t help it, but every time I read your posts, my eyes get stuck on that and it seems to me that I have to be very careful because I’m talking to someone who may be just little pissed off at life,,,,lol... just kidding, I like DeadRoses.... Salaam,
I watched the funeral too , and I sincerely couldn't help being a bit sad about his death...He's done a lot more than other muslims would do...
I was sensitive to your suggestions...RedRose, Pinkrose,Greenrose...hummm it's a difficult choice! why not BlackRose You know...you don't have to be careful when you read my posts...You can catch the rose, I don't have spines lol...
As I told you in the post "Do you Like?..." it is not completely a sad nickname and thanks for liking it Salam...
Elizabeth Barrett Browning A Dead Rose Poem lyrics of A Dead Rose by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. O Rose! who dares to name thee? No longer roseate now, nor soft, nor sweet; But pale, and hard, and dry, as stubble-wheat, - Kept seven years in a drawer-thy titles shame thee.
The breeze that used to blow thee Between the hedgerow thorns, and take away An odour up the lane to last all day, - If breathing now, - unsweetened would forego thee.
The sun that used to smite thee, And mix his glory in thy gorgeous urn, Till beam appeared to bloom, and flower to burn, - If shining now, - with not a hue would light thee.
The dew that used to wet thee, And, white first, grow incarnadined, because It lay upon thee where the crimson was, - If dropping now, - would darken where it met thee.
The fly that lit upon thee, To stretch the tendrils of its tiny feet, Along thy leaf's pure edges, after heat, - If lighting now, - would coldly overrun thee.
The bee that once did suck thee, And build thy perfumed ambers up his hive, And swoon in thee for joy, till scarce alive, - If passing now, - would blindly overlook thee.
The heart doth recognise thee, Alone, alone! The heart doth smell thee sweet, Doth view thee fair, doth judge thee most complete, - Though seeing now those changes that disguise thee.
Yes, and the heart doth owe thee More love, dead rose! than to such roses bold As Julia wears at dances, smiling cold! - Lie still upon this heart-which breaks below thee!
Oh Brother Krim, that's a real good poem, thank you, now I have to say to DeadRose that I like her logging name and that she should never change it...lol
It´s my pleasure dears Below is another poem in French and entitled "Rose morte"
just stop it! I know you've won and I lost this one, I'm sorry, It'll never happen again...... ANA METTAYEB LILLAH!!!!WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO SO YOU CAN FORGIVE ME??? just ask!!
Dear Almot All what I wanted is to share the 2 pieces with you and deadRose. Both of you are behaving and doing everything to make this forum enjoyable.
So I want you to keep behaving as always you did. Regards
I completely agree with you. When you see how many people from everywhere went to his funerals, how much time they spent in the queue before seeing him. It so beautiful. It prooves how good he was and everybody respected him. He wanted the peace in the world and did the best he could to help people in need and try to reach a peace forever.
Thank you tanjawiya, That’s exactly how I felt, we shouldn’t care about what religion a good person is from, a good person is a good person, period! No matter where he or she is from. I actually liked him since when he visited Morocco, if you’re 70 years old like me, lol, and you remember that event,,,,he was very humble, respectful and people greeted him so well. I also wonder who amongst the actual Arab leaders will draw crowds like that if they die tomorrow,,,let me think for a minute, NO BODY!!! cheers,
Yes, religion has nothing to do with the goodness of somebody. I was very sad when i knew the news, he was a great man, and noboby can deny this. I have seen the pictures when he was visiting Morocco, it s incredible, he visited so many countries and was so tolerant with everyone. He even forgave the man who had intended to kill him! Who would have done this? Even a 100% muslim wouldnt have forgive him. I admire him. I watched the news with great attention the day of his funerals. I even cried! It s not a reason that he wasnt a muslim that we havent to consider him and we ought to think of what he did in his entire life.
I think the same, few persons will be present in the funerals of a arab leader.
I think we are not the only ones who were affected by his death. It's really a great loss...Many muslims were sad about that.
A friend of mine called me yesterday (I precise that he's muslim) and we started talking about the Pope's funeral...my friend was so affected by this!! more than I could imagine. He described his feelings..he told me he's never gonna forget this great man for all the things he's done, for his goodness and tolerance towards all the religions. What struck me the most is when he told me that when he heard the news about his death , it was for him like his dad's death... Personally I won't say I was sad and hurt to that point .. but for the moment I can't imagine another Pope in his place.
