Hi everyone,

What would you put in your backpack (or rucksack) if you travel for longtime or only if you go camping?
Let's do a check list!

Many thanks in advance,

See you,

najmae, it all depends on where you're planning to go. Is is hot in there or wet? Most of the travellers are packing only basic things- like hygiene "tools"- soap, toothbrush,towel etc., also extra pair of shoes, change of clothes, map of area you'll travel, maybe thermostat if the weather is cold, like I said it all depends on the climate you'll travel in smiling smiley

well, I like primitive camping.
So the most important to me is NO TOOTHBRUSH smiling smiley I feel wild and I love it.
So I take my US military bag that I bought in a state sale for $5, cause I can carry lot of stuff:
- my tent
- pad
- sleeping-bag
- my kitchen gear: mug+bowl+tea maker+seasoning mix+knife
- food in cans
- flashlight
- cash money
- map if available
- condom if applicable

how about you?

Dear north star,

You are right, it depends where and when you are going...Let's talk about a 1 year trip to a new country.

For my part, I would put :

* sleeping-bag,
* flashlight,
* lighter,
* guidebook and map
* a compass
* pad, pen,
* blanket + emergency blanket (for it's small size & efficiency),
* sewing kit, nappy pines
* ZIP bags,
* first-aid kit
* second pair of shoes ( or flip flop)
* kitchen gear: mug+bowl+plate+knife...
* toilet bag (soap, toothbrush...)
* a compact microfibre towel,
* change of clothes just necessary (not to forget : K-way, swimming suit, sunglasses, scarf, hat)

And of course wear a good walking shoes.

if I forget something, please do not hesitate to complete this above check list.

Hey Najmae, What do you mean with a one year Trip ?????
I never stay more than two weeks far from my place.
Your list seems more for a 5 days camping in a beach smiling smiley especially the flip flop smiling smiley

For one year trip, this is will be my list:
- Address where I'm going
- Cash money
- Passport
- My External Hard Drive
- My camcorder

I will buy everything else once in place smiling smiley

hey chaïba kadim,

What I mean by one year trip, is to travel around with your backpack to discover a new country or countries.
Concerning the Flip Flop...they can make good to your feet after a long walk and you they can be useful like slippers.
Your list (address where I am going....my camcorder) is essentiel, it is obvious. But you are right, it is necessary to remind them.
For the cash money, it would be necessary just to have little cash and to privilege traveler checks.
You have an insurance, which allows you to make them paid off in case of loss or of steal.

And of course,it is recommended to take the bare minimum in your backpack, and to buy everything esle once in the place.

That was a polite version; equally I could take
a few birds some roasted
a large bottle of water filled with rum and coke.
a sleeping bag and a lasting sleeping beauty
Sun glasses and lots of sun lotion or baby oil
Money, emergency bag, protections
Hope you will pass this list
Welcome

10 Most useful and handy pieces of shits you should carry along when ever u travel in field you must be in possession of the following. By field i mean camping or hike etc

1. Smallest size towel for personal use only.
2. Knife a good one and lighter.
3. A small rope and extra pair of socks
4. First aid mostly to cover wounds and rain coat
5. Steel mug and plastic shoping bags
6. Flash light preferrably rechargeable and solar charger.
7. soap, Toothpast/ brush shaving brush comb etc etc
8. a steel container on which something can be cooked with spoon and handle of course, it should be big enough to hold a regular banana and deep enough to make the banana sink in it.
9. A ground sheet and some sweets.
10. Pen, writing pad and if possible a GPS maybe in cellphone or itself

Dont worry about packing, most of the stuff will be fixed in the steel container and steel mug, rest wrap all in the ground sheet and carry it in your backpack
