Morocco condemned on Tuesday the attacks that hit the Austrian capital Vienna on Monday.
«I would first of all like to express all the sadness we felt yesterday following the terrible attacks which struck the heart of Central Europe, Vienna», underlined Tuesday the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita.
«We strongly condemn these despicable acts. We stand by Austrians during these moments of pain while we oppose violence, hatred and the rejection of otherness», continued the Minister. «Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and the Austrian people», he added.
Five people died in the attack and at least 17 were injured. The Austrian authorities have announced that the 20-year-old terrorist, who is among the dead, is an IS «sympathizer». The attacker, who was shot to death by the police, was born in Austria to an Albanian family in North Macedonia.
