5,461 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 270,626.
4,892new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 221,743.
81 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 4,506. 15 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 12 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 12 in the Oriental, 11 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 7 in Marrakech-Safi, 7 in Fès-Meknès, 6 in Tangier -Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 6 in Souss-Massa, 3 in Guelmim-Oued Noun and 2 deaths in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.
The country has 44,377 active cases, including 970 in critical conditions. 78 of them are on ventilators.
Casablanca-Settat region comes first, with 2,246 new cases: 1,872 in Casablanca, 104 in Nouaceur, 76 in Mohammedia, 71 in Berrechid, 53 in El Jadida, 47 in Mediouna, 12 in Settat, 8 in Benslimane and 3 cases in Sidi Bennour. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 1,027 new cases: 395 in Salé, 254 in Kénitra, 226 in Skhirat-Témara, 102 in Rabat, 46 in Khemisset and 4 cases in Sidi Slimane.
Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima follows with 471 new infections: 222 in Tanger-Assilah, 101 in Tétouan, 55 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 37 in Al Hoceima, 35 in Larache, 19 in Chefchaouen, 1 case in Ouazzane and another at Fahs Anjra. 431 were recorded in the Oriental region: 224 in Oujda-Angad, 103 in Berkane, 89 in Nador, 7 in Taourirt, 5 in Jerada, 1 case in Guercif, one case in Driouch and another in Figuig.
In Souss-Massa, 356 infections were confirmed: 175 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 65 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 37 in Taroudant, 33 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 32 in Tiznit and 14 case to Tata.
Marrakech-Safi recorded 342 new cases: 246 in Marrakech, 40 in Essaouira, 25 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 16 in Chichaoua, 8 in Al Haouz, 3 in Youssoufia, 3 in Rhamna and one case in Safi.
Beni Mellal-Khénifra recorded 182 new infections: 64 in Khouribga, 54 in Fqih Bensaleh, 35 in Beni Mellal, 19 in Azilal and 10 in Khénifra.
154 cases were recorded in Drâa-Tafilalet (59 in Tinghir, 56 in Errachidia, 17 in Midelt, 15 in Ouarzazate and 7 cases in Zagora) and 103 in Fès-Meknes (29 in Taza, 21 in Fès, 15 in Meknes, 14 in Boulmane, 11 in Sefrou, 6 in El Hajeb, 6 in Ifrane and one case in Moulay Yacoub).
In the southern provinces, 67 cases were confirmed in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (54 in Laâyoune, 8 in Boujdour and 5 in Es-Smara), 45 infections were recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun (36 in Guelmim and 9 in Tan Tan) while 37 cases were recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
