Morocco : Two arrested in Fez for alleged involvement in drug trafficking

The Fez anti-gang brigade arrested, on Wednesday, in coordination with the regional judicial police services, on the basis of precise information by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, two individuals for their alleged links with a criminal network active in the trafficking of drug and psychotropic pills.

According to a press release from the National Police (DGSN), the suspects, aged 32 and 34, were arrested at a traffic checkpoint at the Msoun station on the Oujda-Fez highway, immediately after their arrival in two vehicles.

The search operations allowed the seizure of 1 ton and 300 kilograms of chira, in addition to 19,800 dirhams, suspected of resulting from this criminal activity, said the same source.

The suspects were remanded in police custody as part of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with a view to determining the possible ramifications of this criminal activity and revealing all the criminal acts against the offenders, concluded the DGSN.
