A 4.7-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded on Tuesday off the Atlantic coast, said a press release from Morocco's National Institute of Geophysics (ING).
The earthquake, whose epicentre is located about 220 km from Casablanca, occurred at 17h 35min 44sec (GMT+1), said the National Network of Seismic Monitoring and Alarm under the ING in a seismic alarm bulletin.
The tremor is 30 km deep, with a latitude of 35,028 °N and a longitude of 9,259 °W, the same source added.
