The vaccination operation against Covid-19 was kicked off, on Saturday, at the headquarters of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in Rabat, for the benefit of FAR staff, in parallel with the start of the national vaccination campaign.

Members of the FAR received the first dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine in full compliance with preventive measures (face masks, social distancing and disinfection), in accordance with the measures adopted by the health authorities.

Colonel Ridouane Zahnoune, chief medical officer at the FAR headquarters, said that the battalion of FAR headquarters organized this operation through three vaccination posts with the necessary equipment and staff who had received the appropriate training to ensure the required efficiency.

Colonel Zahnoune underlined that, given the proximity factor, two vaccination centers were set up to receive people to be vaccinated, while taking all precautionary measures.

The vaccination operation is carried out according to precise measures including the verification and information, in a computer system, of the personal identity of the beneficiary, before submitting it to a diagnosis under the supervision of the centre's doctor, based on the health record of each beneficiary, he said.

After taking the first dose of the vaccine, the recipient is kept for a few minutes for post-vaccination observation to ensure that side effects do not appear, he explained.

At the end of this operation, the beneficiary is urged to continue respecting the preventive measures against Covid-19 and to note the date of the next dose, depending on the type of the administered vaccine (21 days for the Sinopharm vaccine and 28 days for the Astrazeneca vaccine), Colonel Zahnoune said.
