Covid-19 : King Mohammed VI stresses need of maintaining the same rate for vaccination campaign

During a Council of Ministers, Thursday, King Mohammed VI asked the Minister of Health about the run of the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19 epidemic.

Minister Khalid Ait Taleb answered that the campaign is taking place in the best conditions and is marked by a strong mobilization of citizens. King Mohammed VI reiterated his guidelines on the need to continue this campaign with the same pace and the same spirit of responsibility, read a statement by the Royal Palace spokesman.

On Thursday, Morocco received a second batch of vaccines developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII), under license from AstraZeneca. The cargo sent by India included 4 million doses of said vaccine.

In January, Morocco acquired 2 million doses from the same laboratory and 500,000 from China’s Sinopharm. 855,355 people have received the vaccine against Covid-19 as of Thursday, February 11.
