The Casablanca judicial police arrested, last Monday and Tuesday, six individuals including a woman for their alleged links to a criminal network active in the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
A statement by the national police (DGSN) said Wednesday that the suspects were arrested in the city of Casablanca and its environs in the regions of Mansouria, Had Soualem and Chellalat, as part of the investigation conducted by police services following the seizure of 715 kg of Chira, aboard a container, in a parking lot in Ben M'Sik on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
The search operations carried out as part of this case led to the seizure of an additional 912 kg of Chira in the home of one of the suspects in the Sidi Moumen neighborhood in Casablanca, in addition to a 4x4 vehicle that was in a warehouse in the rural area of Had Soualem.
The suspects were placed in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to determine the possible ramifications of this criminal activity and all the acts of which the suspects are accused, the DGSN concluded.
