The 1st Navy Infantry Battalion, in collaboration with the Gendarmerie Royale of Al Hoceima, rescued, early Monday morning off the Espalmadero surveillance post (Al Hoceima region), 59 would-be migrants of Sub-Saharan origin who were on board an inflatable boat, a military source said.
33 women, seven children and seven babies were among those rescued, it added.
The rescued people were taken care of by elements of the local brigade of the Gendarmerie Royale, while four women, one child and two babies, whose state of health was deteriorating, were evacuated to the Mohammed V Provincial Hospital in Al Hoceima.
