Moroccan writer among nominees for Sheikh Zayed Book Award

The Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which is in its 15th edition, unveiled on Tuesday the list of nominated titles in the category Children's Literature and Young Author which includes a novel by Moroccan writer, Rajaa Mallah.

The list comprises three works, including «Emerald Garden» by Moroccan Rajaa Mallah, «An artist's journey» by Tunisian novelist Mizouni Bennani and «The ghoul and the Raspberry» by Emirati writer Nassiba El-Azibi.

The award includes various categories, namely Arabic Culture in Other Languages, Children’s Literature, Young Author, Contribution to the Development of Nations, Literature, Literary and Art Criticism, Cultural Personality of the Year, Publishing and Technology and Translation.

In the Cultural Personality of the Year category, the winner receives an award of $270,000, while in the other categories, the prize amounts to nearly $204,000.
