British Council Morocco, in partnership with the ministry of National Education, Professional Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, has awarded the International Schools Award to twenty Moroccan high schools at an event held recently.

The award was handed over by special guests representing the ministry of National Education as well as the British Council.

The label can be used by the winners for a period of three years, British Council said in a press release, adding that 30 high schools from seven regions of the country have submitted their dossiers.

«The International School Awards is a prestigious badge of honour for schools that add an international dimension to teaching and learning», said British Council Director Tony Reilly, as quoted in the release.

Connecting Classrooms project helps schools in more than 30 countries to build sustainable partnerships with British schools as well as among them, he added.

The International Schools Award supports schools in fostering an international ethos throughout the school and embedding it within the curriculum.

Launched in 2015, Connecting Classrooms is a global education programme for schools, designed to help young people to develop the knowledge, skills and values to live and work in a globalised economy, and contribute responsibly both locally and globally.
