Military delegation led by Major General, Chief of Staff of Emirati Armed Forces visits Morocco

Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration, received on Monday March 29, 2021, Major General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, on a visit to the Kingdom along with a large military delegation.

Talks between the two officials touched on strengthening Moroccan-Emirati military cooperation and the means to boost them to match the privileged relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the Lieutenant General of the Army, Inspector General of the FAR, received at the FAR General Staff in Rabat, the Emirati guest and the accompanying military delegation, according to the same source.

The talks, which took place in the presence of the Heads of Offices concerned of the FAR General Staff and of the Inspector of the Royal Air Forces, as well as members of the Emirati delegation and the Defense Attaché to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Rabat, focused on various aspects of military cooperation between the two countries.

The Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and the Chief of Staff of the Emirati Armed Forces expressed their satisfaction with the excellent and durable cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries, as well as with the quality and the dynamism of this cooperation, based on the deeply-rooted and historical ties between the two brotherly countries.

The two officials subsequently examined the many aspects of bilateral military cooperation, more particularly the means of strengthening it through, notably, the promotion of interoperability between the Armies of the two countries and the sharing of experience and expertise, noted the source.

Military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Emirati Armed Forces is governed by a framework agreement, signed in May 2006. It mainly concerns the areas of training, the exchange of visits, and operational, technical and material assistance.
