The Royal Navy units operating in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic have rescued, this weekend, 165 candidates for irregular migration, a military source said.
The people rescued, 103 sub-Saharans, 34 Moroccans, 27 Bangladeshis and one Burmese, were experiencing difficulties aboard several makeshift boats, the same source added.
They received first aid on board the Royal Navy units, and were returned safe and sound to the closest ports of the Kingdom and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for usual procedures.
