As previously announced, the hearing of Brahim Ghali, scheduled for Friday, May 7, by an examining judge at the National Hearing, will not take place. The Polisario leader could be heard by the Spanish justice on June 1, reveals Europa Press citing «judicial sources».
A date that can change based on the state of health of Ghali, says the same source. On Wednesday, a police report submitted to Judge Santiago Pedraz stressed that the leader of the Front «is still under assisted breathing» in a hospital in Logroño.
In addition to the case of Ghali, justice also wishes to hear other members of the Polisario leadership who were subject of a complaint filed by Fadel Breika, namely Bachir Mustapha Sayed, Mohamed El Khalil, Mohamed Salek Abdessamad and Sid Ahmed El Batal.
For the record, Fadel Breika says he was kidnapped, tortured and detained for months, between June and November 2019, for having denounced on social media the corruption of senior Polisario «officials».
In connection with this case, 13 Sahrawi and Spanish associations called on the Spanish courts to prohibit Ghali from leaving Spanish territory.
