The Spanish Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, revealed on Friday that 6,500 people out of the 8,000 who entered Ceuta during the last three days have been returned to Morocco.
Most of the parents of minors who entered the city have submitted a request for the return of their children, he said, quoted by EFE. This process took place in collaboration with the Moroccan government and the Spanish authorities, he said.
Life is back to «normal» in Ceuta, while relations with Morocco remain «close» and «fraternal», although they are going through a «moment of disagreement», reassured the minister.
The governments of both countries have agreed to return those who entered Ceuta in Morocco. The return process began on Wednesday, confirmed by statements from the first vice-president of the Spanish governmnet, Carmen Calvo.
The Moroccan authorities have also made free buses available to return the migrants. Buses were thus mobilized to return people from nearby towns, such as Fnideq, Tangier and Tetouan. Others will be used to bring back people from Fez or Casablanca, according to the Spanish press agency.
