A coast guard unit of the Royal Navy rescued, Wednesday, about ten kilometers off the port of Dkhila south of Dakhla, 33 sub-Saharan migrants on a canoe.

The canoe in question, which set sail from the Mauritanian coast on December 11, 2023, intended to go to the Canary Islands, indicates a press release from the general staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

The rescued people received the necessary care on board before being transported to the port of Dkhila and entrusted to the Royal Gendarmerie.
