Morocco seizes around 1.5 tons of cocaine concealed in shipping container in Tanger Med port

Moroccan police foiled, Tuesday, at the Tanger Med port an attempt to smuggle 1.488 tons of cocaine in a joint operation with Spanish security forces, reads a police statement.

The cocaine was concealed in a shipping container that was aboard a vessel originating from South America and headed to Turkey, the same source added.

Police say an investigation is underway to identify all persons associated with the criminal network involved in the attempt to smuggle this shipment of cocaine, as well as to determine its intersections and regional and international connections.
