Authorities at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport apprehended a 38-year-old Danish man on Thursday, January 18th. The individual, subject to a red notice issued by Interpol at the request of Danish judicial authorities, was wanted in an international drug trafficking case.

A security source confirmed the arrest, facilitated by collaboration between Morocco's General Directorate of National Security and the US Narcotics Bureau. Upon arrival on a flight from the United States, the Danish citizen, already internationally sought, was identified through Interpol databases as a fugitive under an international arrest warrant issued by Danish authorities in connection with international drug smuggling networks.

Currently detained by the Casablanca State Department of the Judicial Police, the suspect awaits extradition proceedings overseen by the competent judicial authorities.

This operation, according to the security source, demonstrates a renewed commitment to leveraging international security cooperation mechanisms to combat diverse forms of transnational organized crime. It further underscores the effectiveness of the strategic security partnership between Moroccan and American authorities.
