On Thursday evening, the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal in Rabat specializing in anti-terrorism cases issued prison sentences against seven defendants involved in two separate terrorism-related files.
In the first case involving six individuals, the court sentenced the primary defendant to six years in prison. The remaining five defendants received five-year sentences each. All were charged with forming a gang to prepare and plan terrorist acts aiming to disrupt public order through fear, intimidation, and violence.
They were also found guilty of praising a terrorist organization and inciting acts constituting terrorist crimes.
In the second case, the court sentenced the defendant to five years in prison for inciting the commission of terrorist acts aimed at disrupting public order and praising and promoting a terrorist organization.
