On Sunday, the Royal Navy intercepted a canoe carrying 59 individuals from sub-Saharan countries attempting irregular migration, approximately 209 kilometers southwest of Dakhla.

The General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) stated in a press release that the canoe, originating from the Senegalese coast on January 30th, was en route to the Canary Islands.

After receiving necessary care onboard, the individuals were transported to the Port of Dakhla and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for standard administrative procedures.
