Following the devastating earthquake in Morocco on September 8th, 2023, Virgin Unite, alongside the Eve Branson Foundation and Kasbah Tamadot, partnered with local communities, NGOs, and the government to support recovery.

More than 100 pallets of supplies, including tents, sleeping bags, water bottles, and winter clothing, arrived in the hard-hit Al Haouz Province. A large part of this effort stemmed from a personal appeal by Richard Branson, leading to generous donations from companies like Coleman UK and EverTrek, Virgin Unite said on Thursday.

These donations provided crucial shelter and supplies to over 16,000 people in the High Atlas Mountains, helping them weather the harsh winter. British Ambassador Simon Martin commended the collaborative spirit, highlighting the strong UK-Morocco relationship.

Community members expressed their gratitude for the support, calling the tents «symbols of security and comfort» and «a lifeline» during challenging times. Mohamed KaouKaou, a local leader, noted the united spirit, saying, «Together, we're not just rebuilding our physical structures but also cultivating resilience for the future».
