The National Airports Office (ONDA) projects total air traffic to surpass 30 million passengers in 2024, marking a significant increase.
In a statement, ONDA anticipates significant growth at key airports: 23% increase for the Marrakech Menara Airport, 22% for Agadir Al Massira and 13% for the AirportTangier Ibn Battuta Airport.
This projection follows a promising start to 2024, with Moroccan airports welcoming over 2.27 million passengers in January, reflecting a 15% year-on-year growth.
ONDA attributes this momentum to international air travel, which saw over 2 million passengers in January, representing a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Notably, this sector accounts for 91% of total air traffic.
January also saw the launch of new international routes, including: Agadir – Nantes, operated by VOLOTEA and Tangier – Cairo, operated by CAIRO AIR (marking its first entry into the Moroccan market).
