The Casablanca City Council announced, Thursday, the launch of the city's Busway system on March 1st, adding a new mode of public transportation alongside buses and trams. The Council president, Nabila Rmili, confirmed the ticket price at 6 dirhams, emphasizing its affordability through a 40% subsidy.

This high-level service bus system, known as BHLS, aims to improve mobility in Casablanca. It boasts a fleet of 40 modern, 21-meter-long vehicles operating on dedicated corridors with 42 stations matching tram quality.

The two Casabusway lines will directly serve 300,000 residents. Line BW1 connects Salmia district to Lissasfa, serving key areas and offering connections to T1 and T3 tram lines.

Line BW2 extends 12 kilometers, connecting Errahma district to Oulmès roundabout, with a connection to the T2 tram line.

Busway offers high frequency (5 minutes 30 seconds during peak hours), security with station agents and cameras, air conditioning, comfortable seating, USB chargers, and dynamic information screens. All platforms and vehicles are accessible for people with reduced mobility. Additionally, the buses use clean engines for environmental sustainability.

Construction for the two lines began in December 2020, and the system is now ready for service.
