The Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy announced that the number of tourists who visited Morocco during the first two months of 2024 increased to over 2.1 million, up 14% compared to the same period last year.
A statement from the ministry on the number of tourist arrivals said that «the efforts made to promote Morocco as a destination and improve air links to it continue to bear fruit. In 2024, Moroccan tourism continues its path towards achieving the objectives of the roadmap, with 1.1 million tourists recorded in February, an increase of 18% compared to February 2023. Thus, more than 2.1 million tourists visited Morocco during the first two months of this year, an increase of 14% compared to the same period of 2023».
The ministry highlighted that in light of these achievements, foreign tourists now represent 53% of the number of arrivals, while Moroccans living abroad make up 47% of this number. According to the same source, this continuous growth highlights the attractiveness of Morocco and the effectiveness of the measures taken to promote tourism and improve air links, in accordance with the tourism roadmap for the period 2023-2026.
