Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs, Amal Hamad, expressed gratitude on Wednesday towards King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, for his unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
«We extend our sincere thanks to His Majesty the King, the Moroccan government, and people for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause», the Palestinian minister conveyed to the Maghreb Arab News Agency (MAP).
This acknowledgment came during the Palestinian minister's participation in a high-level event organized by Morocco as part of the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
King Mohammed VI, also serving as the chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, had issued directives to launch a humanitarian operation to deliver food aid, by road, to the Palestinian population in Gaza and the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
In addition to the institutional assistance, which will be notably facilitated through the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the King graciously agreed to personally sponsor a significant portion of the assistance, particularly aimed at infants and young children.
Morocco has become the first nation to transport its humanitarian aid via this unprecedented land route, ensuring direct delivery to the intended beneficiary populations.
