Li Changlin, the Chinese ambassador to Morocco, emphasized the «strategic importance» of cooperative relations between China and Morocco, particularly in the areas of economy, culture, education, and technology, during a round table held Wednesday in Casablanca.
Speaking at Mundiapolis University's Institute of Political, Legal and Social Sciences (ISPJS) on the theme of «Sino-Moroccan relations in the new era», the Chinese diplomat noted a significant surge in trade between the two countries in recent years, reaching a volume exceeding $7 billion. This growth has positioned China as a strategic trading partner for Morocco.
Chinese investment in Morocco has also grown considerably, focusing on key sectors like industry, transportation, renewable energies, and real estate. This economic dynamism reflects the increasing interest of Chinese businesses in the Kingdom.
The ambassador further encouraged Chinese companies to expand their investments in Morocco's priority development sectors, particularly renewable energies and the automotive industry.
He also highlighted the potential for cooperation in cultural and educational fields. In this context, he emphasized the importance of a shared vision, mutual exchange, and pragmatic collaboration in building a solid and lasting partnership between the two countries.
