Morocco's Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, received the members of the Family Code revision committee in Rabat on Saturday. They presented their proposals for submission to King Mohammed VI.
Akhannouch stated that the committee, after completing its work within the timeframe set by the King, presented a report on proposed amendments to the Family Code for the King's consideration.
He emphasized that the committee adopted a broadly participatory approach, holding hearings with representatives of civil society organizations working on women's, children's, and human rights issues, along with political parties, trade unions, judges, activists, researchers, academics, and ministerial institutions.
The committee also received memorandums by email before examining the proposals arising from these consultations.
