Heatwave expected in Morocco this week

A heatwave is forecast from Thursday to Saturday in several Moroccan provinces, with temperatures varying between 34 and 39°C, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).

The DGM issued an orange vigilance alert bulletin for these regions : Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Settat, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakech, Azilal, Al Haouz, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Tata, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Assa-Zag, Tarfaya, Laâyoune, Boujdour, Es-Smara, Oued Eddahab and Aousserd.

Temperatures in these areas will reach between 34 and 39°C from Thursday to Saturday.

On Friday, similar temperatures (34-39°C) are expected in Kénitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Skhirate-Témara, Khemisset, Salé, Rabat, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Nouaceur, Mohammadia, Mediouna, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Safi, Essaouira, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul and Tiznit.

Finally, the bulletin forecasts temperatures ranging between 34 and 38°C on Friday and Saturday in Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Guercif and Taourirt.
