Eid al-Fitr Wednesday in Saudi Arabia, France and Spain

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other countries have announced that Wednesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, while Morocco will mark the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Tuesday evening.

Muslims around the world are preparing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Crescent moon sightings will determine the exact date in various countries.

In Saudi Arabia, authorities announced the impossibility of sighting the crescent moon, making Tuesday the last day of Ramadan and Wednesday the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

France follows suit, with both the Great Mosque of Paris and the French Council of the Islamic Religion agreeing that Wednesday will be the first day of Eid.

Morocco will mark the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Tuesday evening, April 9th (29 Ramadan 1445 AH).

Meanwhile, Belgium's local scientific council has declared Wednesday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Both Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have announced Wednesday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Australia, the Australian Fatwa Council has announced Tuesday as the last day of Ramadan and Wednesday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

Finally, Lebanon's Grand Mufti has declared Wednesday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

In Egypt, Dar Al-Ifta, the country's institution for religious edicts, announced that Eid al-Fitr will begin on Wednesday.

The Islamic Commission of Spain (Comisión Islámica de España) and the Union of Islamic Communities and Organisations in Italy (Unione delle comunità e organizzazioni islamiche in Italia) also announced Wednesday as the first day of Eid al-Fitr for their respective Muslim communities.
