The Moroccan futsal team secured a dominant 6-0 victory over Libya in the CAN Maroc 2024 semi-finals on Friday evening, booking their place in both the tournament's final and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 in Uzbekistan.

Soufian El Mesrar and Bilal Bakkali each netted two goals, while Youssef Jouad and Anas El Ayyane added one apiece for the Atlas Lions. Morocco controlled the match from the start, putting immediate pressure on Libya and taking a quick two-goal lead within the first four minutes. The team created numerous other scoring opportunities, but several attempts sailed just wide or were denied by the Libyan goalkeeper.

Hicham Dguig's men displayed exceptional ball-winning skills, effectively shutting down any attacking threats from Libya. They maintained a strong defensive presence throughout the match, preventing any goals conceded. However, the first half saw Youssef Jouad forced to leave the game due to injury.

The second half mirrored the first, with the Atlas Lions continuing their attacking dominance. They capitalized on their momentum, scoring shortly after the restart and extending their lead despite a defensive stand from the Libyans.

In the other semi-final held earlier on Friday, Angola secured their place in the final with a decisive 7-3 victory over Egypt. This win also guarantees their participation in the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024, scheduled for September 14th to October 6th in Uzbekistan.

The third and fourth-place playoff between Libya and Egypt will determine the final team to qualify for the World Cup.

The continental futsal championship will be played at the Salle Ibn Yassine and the Palais des Sports, both located within the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
