Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, met with Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mamadou Tangara, on Monday in Rabat. Tangara delivered a written message to King Mohammed VI from Gambian President Adama Barrow.
Following the meeting, Tangara spoke to the press, praising the strong relations between Morocco and The Gambia. He commended Morocco's «considerable support» under King Mohammed VI for the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit, to be held in The Gambia on May 4th and 5th.
Tangara also emphasized The Gambia's commitment to working with Morocco to achieve a «prosperous, united and stable Africa». He highlighted the importance of the Royal Atlantic Initiative, which promotes stability and prosperity in the region.
The Gambian Foreign Minister concluded by reiterating his country's support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
