On Sunday, the Tangier prefectural judicial police department opened an investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor, to determine how cocaine was concealed in a shipping container bound for Greece from a Brazilian port.

Security sources report that acting on a tip, authorities at Tangier Med port examined a suspicious container from Brazil.

A search with a police dog team led to the seizure of 25 sachets containing a white substance suspected to be cocaine, linked to a satellite positioning system (GPS).

Initial tests confirmed the substance as cocaine, with a weight of approximately 27.4 kg. Samples were sent to the National Forensic Laboratory for further analysis.

In parallel with the investigation, the National Central Bureau «Interpol Office in Rabat» of the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) has initiated international cooperation procedures to identify the origin of the shipment and those involved in the attempted trafficking, for prosecution.
