Stand offers book donations for earthquake-stricken children in Morocco book fair

At the Salon international de l'édition et du livre (SIEL 2024) in Rabat, a «Solidarity» stand is dedicated to the victims and survivors of the Al Haouz earthquake of September 8, 2023, which killed 2,946 people and injured 5,674.

Visitors are encouraged to donate books to children in the affected region, fostering imagination and hope for the future. The initiative runs until SIEL ends on May 19.

Writer and publisher Aziz Cherraj applauds the initiative, highlighting its role in building a culturally-aware generation. In October 2023, a collaboration between the National Library and two foundations delivered over 7,000 books to children affected by the earthquake.
