Morocco to celebrate Eid al-Adha on June 17, announces Ministry

The 1st of Dhu al-Hijjah in the year 1445 of the Hijri calendar corresponds to Saturday, June 8, 2024, and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Monday, June 17, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Friday.

In a statement, the ministry specified that after the Al Maghrib prayer on Friday, 29 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1445 H, corresponding to June 7, 2024, the observation of the lunar crescent marking the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 H was confirmed.

Thus, the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will begin on Saturday, June 8, 2024, and Eid al-Adha will consequently be celebrated on Monday, 10 Dhu al-Hijjah 1445, corresponding to June 17, 2024.

For the record, Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16. The same applies to France.
