English club Crystal Palace announced the signing of Moroccan international Chadi Riad on Friday. The 20-year-old defender joins the club on a long-term contract running until June 2029.
Riad recently earned his first three caps for Morocco, starting for the national team against Sierra Leone in January and scoring his first international goal against Congo Brazzaville earlier this week.
«As a full international at just 20 years old, Chadi is an exciting young player and we are delighted to welcome him to the club», said Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.
«He adds quality to a squad already full of talent and potential, and I look forward to seeing him contribute to the team this season and beyond».
«I'm very happy to join Crystal Palace», said Riad. «I was interested in coming here because of the history of the club and the league they play in. They explained to me their style of play this year, and I think it complements my own style perfectly».
The Atlas Lion, who started his career at Real Mallorca before joining FC Barcelona, arrives in south London after an impressive season on loan at Real Betis.
