Moroccan taekwondo athlete Oumaima El Bouchti (-49 kg) has secured her qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled from July 26 to August 11. El Bouchti earned her second ticket to the Olympics based on her latest world ranking (No. 8), following her withdrawal from the under-49kg category of the Oceania zone Olympic qualifiers.

Driss El Hilali, President of the Royal Moroccan Taekwondo Federation, emphasized that Oumaima El Bouchti's qualification for the Olympics, alongside her compatriot Fatima Zahra Abou Fares, was confirmed after presenting supporting documents verifying El Bouchti's right to qualify. «Oumaima El Bouchti changed her weight category after the list of Olympic qualifiers closed. At the time, she was ranked eighth in the world», he explained.

Previously, Fatima Zahra Abou Fares (+67 kg) earned her ticket to the 2024 Olympics by winning a gold medal at the African Championships held in Dakar on February 9-10.
