Tourism in Morocco continues to grow impressively, with 7.4 million visitors recorded in the first six months of 2024, an increase of 14% on the same period in 2023. According to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, this performance also represents a significant increase of 38% compared to 2019.
Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, highlighted the sector's exceptional momentum, saying that Morocco is on track to reach its annual target of 17.5 million tourists. «Our country's unique assets combined with the implementation of our roadmap are bearing fruit», she declared, highlighting the success of the tourism strategies deployed.
The month of June in particular contributed to these results, with a record arrival of 1.5 million tourists, an increase of 10% compared to June 2023. The Board of Directors of Société Marocaine d'Ingénierie Touristique (SMIT) also recognized this growth, describing the performance as «exceptionally dynamic».
