The Italian ferry company Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV) inaugurated its new headquarters in Nador this week. The ceremony on this occasion was attended by several institutional representatives and local authorities, as well as Mohammed Kabbaj, General Manager of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and GNV's partner in charge of the Morocco region.
«After significant refurbishment and renovation work on a strategically located historic building at the port entrance, GNV officially opens its second office in Morocco to the public, after that of Tangier. The new structure allows the company to welcome its passengers and clients in a more spacious, modern, and functional environment», said GNV, quoted by the Italian media Shipping Italy.
Indeed, Morocco represents GNV's first international market, with more than 450,000 passengers in 2023. In 2024, the carrier aims to improve this result. The strengthened presence in the kingdom could help in this regard. During a press meeting in Tangier, last June, Mohamed Kabbaj told Yabiladi that this project had been carefully considered with his partners.
«A large part of our travelers live in the Oriental region and its surroundings. Before, they had to go all the way to Tangier to depart. The volume of these passengers being very significant, it pushed us, in consultation with them directly, to launch this line [with Nador, ed] and to provide ships at their disposal, but also reception areas, our local agency, with the highest standards that exist in the sector worldwide», the official said.
