Approximately 1.9 million passengers and 447,000 cars passed through Moroccan ports between June 5 and August 15, 2024, as part of the «Marhaba 2024» operation, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics reported on Friday, August 16.

In a press release, the Ministry emphasized that the transit operation was proceeding «under good conditions». For inbound traffic to Morocco, Moroccan ports welcomed around 1.33 million passengers and 317,000 cars, while approximately 570,000 passengers and 130,000 cars transited to Europe from Moroccan ports.

The peak inbound flows to the Kingdom were recorded on August 3 and 4, with over 80,000 passengers and 20,000 cars.

Regarding the return phase, and to ensure the smooth and safe passage of passengers through all Moroccan ports, the Ministry of Transport is urging all travelers wishing to return to their countries of residence to book their tickets in advance, with confirmed travel dates and times, for all shipping lines, including Tanger Med - Algeciras and Tanger Ville - Tarifa.

«In the event of needing to change the date or time of travel indicated on the ticket, travelers should contact the relevant shipping company remotely before arriving at the port to avoid any possible congestion», the Ministry recommends.
