The Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration (ADN) received Field Marshal Birhanu Jula Gelalcha, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, on Monday at the ADN headquarters in Rabat. Field Marshal Gelalcha is on an official visit to Morocco from August 25 to 29, 2024, leading a significant delegation.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed bilateral defense cooperation and expressed their satisfaction with the strong and friendly relationship between Morocco and Ethiopia. They also shared their desire to further strengthen these ties in the future, according to a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
On the same day, the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, received Field Marshal Gelalcha at the headquarters of the General Staff of the FAR.
The two delegations discussed various aspects of cooperation and welcomed the current state of relations between the two armies. They also explored ways to strengthen and expand this cooperation into other areas of mutual interest.
Rooted in a rich and deep history, the bilateral relationship between Morocco and Ethiopia has been revitalized since the King's visit to Addis Ababa in 2016.
